Karate For Christ® offers training in the popular Chinese martial art commonly known as Tai Chi. Zhong De Shi “Faithful Virtue Style” Tai Chi is a “soft style” martial art that promotes longevity and total body health. Proper balance, form, and technique, rather than brute force are emphasized in this art Tai Chi recognized by slow, soft, and sweeping movements, and has been referred to as “moving meditation.”

Tai Chi’s benefits include an increase in balance, coordination, muscle tone, flexibility and overall mobility of joints. Proper breathing is a key element of Tai Chi that serves to oxygenate the entire body, help relieve stress and tension, and lead to an invigorating workout. Zhong De Shi Tai Chi is a God-honoring program taught from a strong Christian perspective. Students learn the art devoid of its historically pagan underpinnings. Principles of Eastern religions and thought patterns have been removed and replaced with the Truth of God’s Word.

We use quiet praise and worship music in class instead of the traditional flute and sitar music. Because of its slower pace, and focus on health and longevity Tai Chi is more suited for adults than young people. Adults of any age or health can benefit by this low-impact, graceful martial art.
